Do you mean learning the notes in the sense in which I am 'learning the notes' of the Mendellsohn violin concerto and the Elgar cello concerto? Through repeated listening of great recordings? Or do you mean learn the notes in the sense of plodding through the score of the Third Concerto at the piano over and over until you ruin your technique and make other people hate you?
Oh, well in that case, sorry for assuming you meant podding along, learning the notes.Regular listening and following along with the score should help you there. If every day you listened to the concerto once, with the score, and really concentrated, you should have a very thorough aural picture of the piece before too long.
