That's just how it is. If you have a lot of haters, that's a good thing. That means that you're doing something right.
Counterexample: Hitler
Another counterexample: Bach
LOL
Look kid... I know you're an incoming freshman right? Well in high school, everyone has at least 10 people that hates you no matter what. The school board MAKES SURE OF THAT. If you ever fall short of that number, then they'll usually transfer another student to the school and that person will hate you. But anyways, you get those people the same day you get your schedule, ID, books, etc. The only reason why you don't have a list of those 10 haters is because you don't need to know them! So anyways, your priority is to make that list larger by excelling at what you do. joining clubs, getting good grades, playing Rachmaninoff or Scriabin, doing sports, etc... And by the end of your high school career, you need a certain amount of haters before you can graduate. Of course that varies due to the size of each school, but you know what I mean. Ever wonder why people fail senior year? NOT ENOUGH HATERS!!!No but yeah, you'll notice when your list of haters get larger. Trust me... You'll just know. And when you do, you will feel proud of yourself.
No wonder the US is slipping down the education tables!
I don't believe I acquired any haters during my later school years, but they let me out.
But yeh, you gotta watch out for dem haters. Everyone thought I was gay for a while a few years ago, which led to some seriously irritating bullying, I guess you'd call it. Generally not physical, never got beaten up, but I got shoved around a bit and was generally harassed. I guess people insecure about the size of their manhood have to let it out somehow, right?
Hey don't think lowly of me! Think lowly of everyone AROUND me.That's because you're a PROFESSIONAL pianist! Those are the only exception to the rule!
I don't think lowly of you. Except that you CANNOT REMEMBER FOR MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES THAT I AM AN AMATEUR!
Amateurs tread carefully through repertoire, not ROMP through it.
Quite the reverse. Professionals have to take care to do what is professionally viable. We amateurs can do as we please, and the occassional romp is good for the soul.
Hey don't think lowly of me! Think lowly of everyone AROUND me.
That's how I feel about American haters who are American. Like, "All Americans are dumb rednecks, except me. I'm smart."
That's the other thing I'd like to add to my comment in the other thread re: career in music with rach_forever. I like that I have no plans to pursue a career in music, so I don't have to follow a recommended path for learning or anything. I just play whatever I want. If it's too difficult but I really want to keep working, I just keep working on it.
It's settled then! You were first an amateur pianist, and now you're a PROFESSIONAL pianist!
Recommended path for learning? Examples?
Of course, if you "make it" in music, you can do all that and get paid for it.
The works of a certain Johann Sebastian comes to mind in your case....
I'm nowhere near good enough, and even if I were, the odds of "making it" are very very slim.
I learn like everything I learn.
Really? I bet you have a list of works you're pestering your teacher to learn. Or planning on pestering your college teacher. Or both.I also bet another Bach P&F isn't on that list.
There kind of is.
Then there's hope for you yet.
What I would like to learn over the whole WTC would be the Goldberg variations. Can I release a CD of that instead of WTC?
As well as, sure.
Put some breasts and long hair and make him a girl, I am sure everyone will love him.
Somehow, I don't think Evgeny would be any better looking as a girl
Hey you can't pick both kid! Only one!
Well there are many female pianists out there who wouldn't win or be able to enter a beauty pageant but guys drool over them..... why??? who knows lol.
(or at least want to ... with)
Google isn't returning any results for "define:..."
Substitute "be".
like, as friends? I like being friends with smart girls. The stupid ones are, well, stupid
Maybe you are too young to know what to do with them anyway
And I think you'd have trouble finding an 18 year old guy who didn't know what you were supposed to do with them.
Play videogames?
Girls can't play video games, everyone knows that.
I have always admired Kissin -I think he plays with great sensitivity and applomb -Lang Lang is very gifted -I have heard fingerwork from him which is second to none -his Presto in the Appassionata, the best I have ever heard -the only thing which distracts from all this is his demeanor at the piano -he seems to put his ego above everything else -I used to really dislike him -but for all his antics I think the classical piano world need characters -especially characters who can communicate and help a younger generation -good luck to the guiy.
