Methods of practice
on: October 19, 2004, 10:02:49 PM
I am preparing for a one hour recital at my school, and i am unsure of how to practice. i have performed regularly in the past, but i always seem to play with at least one very notable stop. i have a teacher who is internationally acclaimed, but he focuses more on the sound quality and tries to ignore my questions on knowing the text well. i find that when i am confident technically, i play at a much, much higher level of musicality. please suggest some successful methods of "stage-proofing" oneself... If it helps, my program consists of:
-Bach partita no.2
-Chopin polonaise no.1
-Rachmaninov prelude no.12
-Chopin/Liszt THe Maiden's Wish
-Mozart concerto no.20
thankyou...
