I'm a physicist with just enough education, who had a course in "treating other people the way you want to be treated", ie Sunday School. The television physicist treats everyone as if they were his mother out to please his every want.
I have to admit, understanding how normal people would wish to be treated is a bit of a stretch. Some lessons learned:
1 People like to hear you say their name when you first meet. Extremely difficult, but a worthy goal.
2. People like it when you look them in the eyes when you talk to them. Somewhat easier than one.
3. People like to talk about popular topics, like sports results, television shows, stars and other celebrities. Very difficult for me, these things take time to keep up with.
