And we think that Biden is gonna suck for Poland. That’s why don’t like him. Another reason, I don’t want to offend anyone here. But if Poland has there LGBTQ+ free zones, so be it! They get to decide, I mean Poland is controlled by the Catholic Church(my religion) and it offends them. And the old man is gonna force them and crap into not having them.
You are aware Biden is a practicing Catholic in the Roman Rite? As am I. It may be neither of us are particularly good Catholics, but that's not for me to decide. To deny this is to deny the binding and loosing power of the Church, and not only in the sacrament of reconciliation. Dimitte nobis debita nostra.
Even if this were not the case, how do you imagine the US imposing cultural standards upon Poland? The U.S. has no influence upon the Vatican whatsoever, or no more than any other nation or region which maintains a conference of bishops and a few cardinals.
If I were in Poland, I'd be more concerned about cultural influences from some of Poland's immediately adjacent neighbors, and several cultural blocs to the north and to the west.
I think Poland has proved herself to be a nation fully capable of making her own decisions about cultural matters, as well as political ones.
Anyway, one of Poland's many outstanding, epoch-defining thinkers wrote a very famous, but unfortunately little-read book called
Spór o istnienie Świata (
Der Streit um die Existenz der Welt). The rest of us are very grateful Ingarden translated it himself into German so we could read it (until recently there was no other translation, nor in French, nor in any other language, I don't believe, so serious logicians had to read the 1200 pages or so in German, even if we didn't know the language that well). I think it's appropriate for a little light reading. While it is true that many Polish enclaves exist in the US, comparatively few people read Polish, whereas all educated Americans can read German.
