And, yes, excessive histrionics on the part of a performer should be a cue that the performer would be better suited to studio work. Cf. Glenn Gould: he had good sense to keep his antics off the stage, as he became an adult.
Audiences for those sorts of stunts should not be encouraged, but rather corrected concerning their defective judgment. Eventually the performers will conform to acceptable public displays.
