need advice getting set up

im not sure how to accomplish my current goal and was looking for advice. I want to record my music and put vocals on my laptop. what tools do I need to record my music onto my laptop. What I currently have is
SONAR 8 producer edition
Yamaha YPG 535
Corded mic

Do you want to sing and play piano at the same time? If so you will an audio interface with at least three inputs (2 for piano, 1 for mic). You could also go first to a mixer then to a stereo audio interface, but you will loose the separation of individual tracks, and with that flexibility in post editing. Since you already have Sonar, you might as well do a multitrack recording.
You did not list details on the mic, but it would be safe to search for an interface with at least one XLR input with phantom power. This will also ensure future compatibility if you wish to upgrade your mic.
