Ask Carlisle (awesome_o), he's about the only one on the forum I know of with the skill set to offer you advice.
I'm not so sure I'm in such a league of my own, especially if David here continues to improve so quickly!
I thought it was miles better than how I remember you playing it from several months ago. Much more poise, with thoughtful control of pulse, and delicate rendering of textures. The overall pacing is extremely effective, and you've eliminated any trace of self-indulgent 'rubato' with an exciting forward momentum that really tells the story of the piece. I also like your demeanor at the keyboard....focused, and professional looking, with no silly faces.
Bravo!
I think you could still pace the climax (4:16-4:20) a bit more.... climatically, for lack of a better word. Maybe a touch broader at the very top, in order to bring out the melody notes with more force? Those notes could still come out of the piano a little more.
At 5:35-5:42, you blur something in the pedal... maybe a b natural and a b sharp? It's difficult to avoid that blur, but I know for a fact that it is possible to do, and I would try to find a cleaner sound at that point if I were you.
The cackle at the end was very effective... I've heard pro's play it with the same level of accuracy, so don't worry too much about getting all the right notes there. If you really want to try though, just practice it without any pedal, a touch under tempo. But honestly, it was fine.
Overall this was an inspired performance! Are Le Gibet and Scarbo on their way to the party yet?
