The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Looking for a new piece!
on: March 26, 2015, 01:55:04 PM
Well, I am right now playing Haydn Piano concerto in D Major and Toccata from Debussy Pour Le Piano! But i don't have so much left of the Toccata. But i don't know which piece to play after this.
I am thinking about Tempest sonata by Beethoven, Moment musical op 16 no 4 by Rachmaninov and Ballade no. 1 or 2 by Chopin. But i'm not really sure if they are in my level. So what do you think is the hardest and easiest of these pieces? I'm thankful for any advice!

just pick whichever you like more/most, if you are at the level to handle it it will becme apparent (and vice versa, if it is beyond you, you should know in short order).

look beyond the obvious as well, there are some great less played (but discovered) and obscure gems out there.

Thanks for those pieces you suggested! I really enjoyed the Arabesque and think it sounded pretty good. But it looked really hard to play!

+1 to Odeon
As far as the Chopin you mentioned, the first ballade is much easier than the second. If you're really concerned about level, however, you might try the third, if you haven't done it already.
However, the things you suggested seem a bit... up there in terms of difficulty. Especially the late Beethoven.
You may enjoy the entire Op 16 set of Rach's, though it would definitely take an iron will to learn the whole thing.
