Opus 28 #20 prelude fingering question
on: June 17, 2015, 05:04:36 PM
I'm attempting to learn this piece but I'm having difficulty in the FIRST measure RH fingering. The first 3 chords are OK but I can't seem to get back to the main chord. Any help on best fingering? I don't have a teacher.

Starting on the G7,
125 34 (for the third) 1235
I use a hand position change, since it's going at a relatively slow tempo.

I do the same as chopinlover1. You use the pedal to maintain the legato.

Is that the c minor prelude? If so, the RH fingering from first to last note is:

1235, 1235, 1235, 24, 1245

It's a pretty basic fingering. If you like to play it very very very very fast (tho I don't think you will), reconsider this fingering.

And to visitor and j_menz:
I made an account and hadn't used it in a year. Welcome back, kevon.

Thanks for the replies. On the 2 note (d-f) transition, was using fingers 3-5 but having difficulty landing on the final chord in measure 1.
