Suitable Chopin Nocturne to accompany Op 62 no 2 ?

Hi,

I am taking mi diploma exam this year and I need to learn one more Chopin Nocturne to accompany the op 62 no 2 I have been learning. I need one that can provide a nice contrast to the angst-ridden Op 62 no 2, but not too difficult like op 48 no 1. I am thinking of Op 9 no 1 or op 15 no 2. I am not sure about op 15 no 2, is it rather too complex ?

The other pieces I am playing is:
Prelude and Fugue D Minor Book 1 by Bach
Beethoven Op 10 no 1 Sonata
Bartok Suite op 14
Chopin Nocturne op 62 no 2

Both of the ones you are thinking of are very pretty. Look at Op. 37, No.2 in G, I have read that people consider this one to be glorious. Also, look at Op. 32 No. 2 in A flat. Both pieces are gentle and expressive. They will contrast well. I think the difficulty level is what you are looking for.

If it was me i won't choose the opus 9.
Those two are very nice but played to often.
op. 15 no. 2 is a good one.
you might like to look at op.27, no2 in d flat
have a look at op.48 no2 too
