Master's Audition program
on: January 14, 2016, 03:19:52 AM
Hi everyone,

I'll be auditioning for schools in UK and US at the end of this year.

Here's my plan:

Bach - Prelude and Fugue no. 3 in C# Major, Book II, BWV872
Mozart - Sonata no. 16 in D major, K. 576
Tchaikovsky - Dumka
Mendelssohn - Rondo Capriciosso
Ravel - Jeux d'eau or Debussy Image 1 (?)
Liszt - La Leggierezza or Un Sospiro (?)

Does it look ok? Are the romantic pieces substantial enough? Please give me suggestions!

Thank You

Currently working on:

Bach - P&F in C# Major, BWV 872, Book II
Haydn - Sonata No.60 in C Major, Hob. XVI 50
Mendelssohn - Variations Serieuses
Debussy - Reflets dans l'eau
Ravel - Jeux d'eau

Have no idea about audition, but the program looks incredible! Dumka, that's so beautiful. Please share some recordings with us :)

hard to believe someone auditioning for an MM would need suggestions or ask if the Romantic era pieces are "substantial" enough.  Since you already have a music degree your knowledge of piano literature should be very advanced.

this post smells funny

I just want to make sure cos I don't have a teacher atm and I'm just indecisive in general. I just want input and help from those who are more experienced than me. Well I'm sorry if these kinds of posts annoy you because I really have no other intentions. I will ask more relevant and thought-provoking questions next time.
