
Yes! Yes! Yes! Beethoven 32 Variations in C minor. It is a wonderful work.

Each variation has its own character, even when it is just a left handed version of the right hand.
They are hard to play, musically and technically, ‘cos you’ve got to get it right straight away, each variation lasting only eight bars. But the piece is so interesting and just right for a competition.
Spend a lot of time getting the theme right; each left hand chord being weighty and exactly in time. I make the left-hand chords legato until the beginning of the sixth bar.
The Haydn F minor Variations is a beautiful work, but it just doesn’t have the variety of the Beethoven, though it has an explosive and extended coda.
