Chopin - Nocturne in C sharp minor, Op. posth.
on: December 14, 2016, 04:25:44 PM
Hello Everybody!

I recorded this piece on saturday with my new piano. This is the 2. Nocturne that I learned from Chopin. I think this is one of the darkest, but most beautiful piece of him.

Nice effort man, some deceptively difficult passages there which you handle quite well. needs a little refining, but I think you know where you struggle.

Are you recording through a mic, or cable plugged straight in? The left hand sounds just a tad louder than it needs to be, but if you're going through the cable you can't really avoid that, but just to be aware.

For me personally the tempo feels a tad off, just a little on the slow side. I think calculated, it's correct, but I'd actually to hear the quavers played just a little faster, but then more emphasis on the expression, so more ritardando at the expressive sections.

Thank you very much for you response!

: In this video I tried out the line-in recording with a separate sound card in my laptop. Software was Audacity.

Ok, next time I try to modify it a little bit. :)

That's fine I have recorded the same way before it stops the feedback, but is definitely a lot more sensitive, so is harder to make the left hand quieter. In that case I wouldn't worry about that.

But yes I know it says Lento, and comparing your times to the average time of the performance as I said, you were pretty correct, I just personally would like to see a little more speed and then taking more time on the embellishments.
