Three "Double-Note" Toccatas
on: December 06, 2017, 03:32:37 PM
Clementi Toccata in Bb, Op. 11

Czerny Toccata, Op. 92

Schumann Toccata, Op. 7

Alright, I'm looking at all these pieces now and I can't help but notice that they're just all too similar.

I have a bunch of questions for this:

1.) Who here learned and/or performend any of these pieces?

2.) How difficult would these pieces be? And which would be the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hardest?

3.) If you were to learn any of these, what would the reason be?

4.) Are they "cousin" pieces? Did Czerny copy Clementi, and Schumann, in turn, imitate Clementi? What's the history
behind their making?
- The fact that they are all "Toccatas" of more or less similar length seems to suggest this.

Thank you!
