I am confused about this piece and wonder if anyone can help me. In some recordings there is a middle section and although there is a lot of discussion about it on the web I am unable to find a score which includes it.
There also appears to be a lot of controversy about this work - is it his last? Where does middle section come from? Should it be included? Do people like it etc etc

I would really appreciate some input on this and particularly where I can find the complete score.

I checked for you in my library and it seems you are correct. Since it's from 1849 I can see the interest in something Chopin would have written at a time when he was very sick.
It seems the difference in editions has to do with the discovery of the manuscript in the 50's (if I'm not mistaken). Thereafter Ekier reconstructed it and thus there's that extra section you're hearing in some recordings. My Henle edition which has a copyright date of 1975 does not have that extra section so the editor must have been sourcing earlier editions but no* manuscript. It's also apparent that the mazurka was republished in 2012 (?) in a new and complete reconstruction based on the autograph as it seems Ekier's was still incomplete.
