I just got approved for a recital in the fall and I can’t think of another piece or two to balance out the rep. My professor always lets me pick the music so he doesn’t really offer any help in that respect. I was already planning on Scriabin's fourth sonata and Chopin scherzo Op. 31 so if that gives a hint at what I’d be able to pull off could anyone offer some suggestions to fill the 30 minutes?

How about a Handel Suite, a Faure nocturne, Dello-Joio 3rd Sonata, Rachmaninoff Elegie.

PDQ BACH selections from the short tempered kalvier would be a dope way to finish

Hi Nathan1234,

I love Scriabin, I hope you have fun with it at your recital!!

I would personally find some shorter, lighter pieces. The Scriabin and Chopin are already somewhat long pieces, and they already encompass a great range of musical textures and depth. What pieces are in your repertoire? Since your recital is in the fall, pull out some older pieces, or if there is a piece that you are currently working on, I would also consider polishing it if you would like to play it for your recital. Also a personal suggestion, but I would find pieces from other musical periods since Chopin and Scriabin are romantic pieces (though the Scriabin goes through the 20th century). This spring I did Bach’s e minor Toccata, Chopin op. 10 no. 1 and 4, Brahms op.117, Bartók suite op. 14, and Mozart k.466 in d minor. So I don’t exactly have a classical or short baroque piece to dig out or otherwise. This is where the problem kind of occurred, since I puke only thin of note romantic pieces to add but that seems like too much. I don’t have much experience with post-scriabin music a dd you can never have enough of Viennese classical but I still don't know enough of the repertoire to make a great choice..
