Trinity College - locating funding for foundation
on: February 01, 2005, 06:49:58 PM
Hello all,
I am fortunate to have been given a place at Trinity College of Music, on the foundation course.
However, as it is not a degree I am not eligable for the usual student loan (lea). This means that I need to search for any grants and or loans that I can procure instead, (as the course is not cheap).
Has anyone got any ideas as to where to look/who to ask about this?
cheers
Mike

Hi Mike!
I've also been offered a place at Trinity, on their BMus course starting in September 2005!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think that you will find it difficult to secure any funding for the foundation course, as it is not government funded. The only thing you could do is contact your LEA anyway, to see if they can offer any help/guidance (they offer certain loans called 'Career Development Loans' which could be available for you), or get in touch with staff at the college as there are some scholarships/bursaries which may give some support. How much money are we talking for the foundation studies course? Would you also have to move to, and live in London, as that is by no means cheap!!
Jack.
