Rachmaninoff Piece that best suits me?
on: December 17, 2020, 06:30:14 AM
I've been dying to learn Rachmaninoff for a while, and I've finally gotten to being able to include it in my repertoire. The most difficult pieces I've learned are Chopin's 3rd Ballade and Beethoven's Tempest Sonata, so ideally it would be around those pieces in terms of difficulty.
I've searched around on my own, but I'm having trouble finding pieces that I like that aren't either too easy or too hard. I really enjoy his first prelude, his second and third piano concerto's, and his difficult Op. 39 etudes (Little Red Riding Hood and No. 5), and his Moment Musicaux No. 4 and 6.
Thanks in advance, I appreciate it!

There are great preludes around your level. Just choose a few that you like, and after that you can move onto harder works like the Moment Musicaux and then after that, the Etudes-Tableaux.
