Tips for practicing Chopin - Scherzo No.2 in B flat Minor
on: May 29, 2023, 04:46:36 PM
Can anyone give me a bit by bit breakthrough of the second scherzo and how to tackle each part individually? Particularly with the arpegiaic sections!

Make sure that you stay loose in the climactic section leading up to the return of the original triplet motif. Find spots where you can give your hands rest and release tension. For the arpeggiatic sections, practice each hand separately extensively and with your eyes closed too(even if you slow down). Use rhythmic practice and doubling up(play pairs of notes twice. Ex. In C scale would be CDCDEFEFGAGABCBC). Practice each section separately, but play the whole piece through often to get a feel of the entire piece and make it a whole.
Hope this helps and good luck.
