What the "Theme 3" in Spanish Rhapsody
on: December 25, 2023, 02:43:33 PM
Today, I was arranging the Capricho Espanol by Gottschalk and encountered this beautiful melody. I remember it somewhere from Liszt's Spanish Rhapsody, but I couldn't remember it. It's a slow dance in 3/4. It's known simply as "Theme 3"

How do you know that the theme has a name? Most themes don't.

Isn't it from a popular Spanish folk tune? That's why Gottschalk and Liszt were both using it
