Who the hell is this Cherry guy??? Sounds like a decent bloke...

Oh you mean Czerny? A man who was very dedicated to etudes, many used by Conservatories around the world - his School of Velocity, Finger dexterity etc???

No offense, pick up some Czerny and you'll start to develop some nimbleness and speed in playing your scales.

I am doing etudes and scales but I meant something else for fun and with scales so I can develop my scale technique while working on a piece. Also autocorrect changed Czerny to Cherry.

I love Mozart's K 576 sonata, working on it right now and it's really helping my scales. Lots of counterpoint and ambiguity with the runs too. It's tricky, but well worth the effort.

Beethoven's Op. 2 No. 2, 1st Movement is also a light piece with many scale runs and pretty interesting musically.

Please work on what you like, these are just some pieces that came to my mind immediately. And if you happen to try them, dedicate some time rather than just doing them "for fun".

Schubert's Impromptu Opus 90 #2 in Eb has plenty of runs in the A section - beautiful and fun to play.

I meant doing them for fun as in learning and polishing them,just outside of my normal practice and my lessons

You could try some Duvernoy etudes/studies. I found they helped a lot and are quite fun, particularly op.61 in d minor

I think the Mozart Violin / Piano sonatas are wonderful workouts for classical technique, and the piano parts are more interesting/challenging than most of the piano solo sonatas.  The early opuses can be a bit light but the later ones are serious works.  Perhaps you have a sibling or friend who plays violin?

Apart from that I would recommend the etudes of Apple, not as many technical pits as Cherry.

Did you mean the early ones such as k 6 or the more mature ones like k 305? I do not have anyone who plays violin but I play the violin so I can record myself on the violin and play along on the piano.
