Why does music captivate you?

I am doing this form for going into high school, and they are asking about a topic, idea, or concept that makes me lose track of time, (Of course, I picked music), and then they asked why it captivates you, and who I'd turn to if I wanted to learn more, and I was wondering what you guys would put as your answer to this question. Plus, I don't really know how to answer this, so I needed some ideas
