Which do you think is the best recording of the complete Prokofiev Sonatas.  I have those performed by Yakov Kasman,  and I think that they are amazing, i was wondering if neone knows of better recordings that i could check out.

I have Murray Mclaughlin playing them all - but Ive only listened to no1 - not all that keen.  In the first one he has a quirk of romanitising the 2nd subject thats really annoying
I have Yefim Bronfman playing them all as well - these are good
Ive also heard Bernd Glemser and these are good too

Im learning no.1 at the mo

That's because they are dumb.

Actually I'm kidding, but really, how many people do you know outside of this forum that dislike his playing?

I've never noticed that there are people who don't like him on this board, more so than other pianists are disliked on this board?

Ashkenazy is one of my favorite pianists, he has played so much repitoire, MUSICALLY, my favorites being Rachmaninoff and Liszt (his Mephisto is unbeatable IMO, so much expression and he has the speed and lightness as well) ...............boooooooooooo Ashkenazy haters.

Check out his Prokofiev, I actually haven't heard it, but I'm sure it's at least, very good.

Boris Berman has recorded them all, and they are wonderful!  I would recommend these highly.  There are MANY MANY BAD versions of these out there!
So much music, so little time........
