Harpsichords
on: May 30, 2005, 04:31:24 PM
Two questions really. Do people still make harpsichords in the style of the original baroque kind? If so, where can I get one and how much will that set me back?
If not, can people still buy the originals in working condition?

Yes, I believe most of the material and style can be found in today's manufactured harpsichords, I once played one in Baylor University, beautiful sound, made in 1973 in Boston, but the man said they are extremely expensive. I am sure you can find good deals on one, there is a portuguese store that sells fine quality ones, but I cannot remember the name of it... It is surely a beatiful instrument. If you find a good deal and have the money for it, I would buy it if I were you.
