Rachmaninoff's filmed performances?
on: June 02, 2005, 06:59:35 PM
Hi everyone, I just want to ask a question that has been on my mind for a while now: Are there any filmed Rachmaninoff's performances? I know that he has some family films, but I am just curious if he was filmed while playing, because it would be very interesting to see it.   8)

There was a documentry shown over here in England some years ago on a pragramme called the South Bank Show. There was a short but silent clip of Rachmaninoff at the Piano. That is the only one i have ever seen.

It is strange that even on the movies Harvest of Sorrow and The Art of Piano there were no films of Rachmaninoff... Since this film was shown in England, it was probably filmed there and kept there... :P
