Improv -- Mayla
on: December 14, 2006, 07:30:48 PM
Here is another improv, which I recorded today, you will find it is in quite a different style than my last improv posting.  Just trying some things out :).

One thing I have learned is that I would like to follow my instincts more.  I find myself building to something and then, even when I consciously know where I am going while improvising, I back away from arriving (I get scared).  I am working on doing some improvising everyday and keeping both a wirtten (read : typed) as well as audio journal of my improvisations.

Cheers,

I am listening to this after a day of intense work with teaching and it is a special feeling. it is like a support of all the thoughts I had during the day. I want to become a better and more motivating teacher. I want to become a more intense musician. And this music says to me: "You will find your way, be confident, keep your thoughts clear, your intentions are right, just organize your thoughts now a bit, calm down. It is not the last day. You have other days coming and surely you will reach what you intend." Perhaps that's the crispy aspect in this, that the thoughts become more clear, crispy?  :) And of course the polyphonic approach in the first part is very organizing too. And these cute bells coming in from 2.25 again touch my heart, I feel almost teary.... :'( For a Rach fan like me bells are special anyway.) What in the world have you got in your music, that makes me feel so changed inside? I like the ending also very much. That is a real down-to earth step. "so is it " it says  ;D

I like your improvs very much, m1469, keep posting them!
