Suggestion -- summaries? [Bob asks]
on: April 01, 2004, 01:23:23 AM
This might be a lot of work though..
Would it be possible for someone to organize the information from threads, esp. really long ones? Take out all the chit-chat?
And, could someone add a very brief (2-3 sentence) synopsis at the very top so I can decide if I want to read the rest? Or, just list the topics discussed -- Some switch to new ideas halfway through.
Or, would it be possible to link some of the threads to other threads?

Ah Bob, what you're calling for is 'moderation'. This site does not have moderators. So you'll have to plough through the pile of garbage most post just like the rest of us.

No Lee(if that IS your real name), He's asking for someone to go through the posts and cut out all the irrelevant information, such as jokes or quips, and then omake summaries of whats discussed.

I'm not even exactly sure what I'm asking.
Actually anyone could do this now that I think about it.
Just make a big font that announces your summarizing something.
I was thinking it would nice if there was an outline of ideas or an abstract like some articles have -- Just the main points. If it were at the beginning you wouldn't have to scroll down.
I think ultimately, you have to do this yourself to absorb the info though, but it's still an idea.
If someone did that, I'd still like to see the original too.
Like I said though -- sounds like a lot of work.
