Porcelain Heart
on: January 22, 2009, 02:18:51 PM
This is me singing and playing the keyboard for "Porcelain Heart" by BarlowGirl. It's a little pitchy in the beginning, and the keyboard does not have a great sound. But, please let me know what you think. Any compliments or ideas to make my voice better are WELCOME!!!
Constructive criticism is welcome, but please be polite.

Shut up if you can't say anything nice. Btw, how do we know you are as good as you say? You say you are as good as Liszt, and have composed plenty of great pieces, and brag about you playing Winter wind etude too fast. Post your own playing instead of bragging about it! ... Moron!

Anyhow, as you say, there's some pitch problems, but that really doesn't matter that much. Im glad you don't use such uber vibrato as many ppl in our age, and the piano playing is quite good aswell. The voice is... quite... *err, trying to find the right word for it* ... Well, more bottom, as when one play a fast piece on the piano, and doesn't really gets a deep tone. It's kind of the same problem with your voice sometimes. But if you find a teacher, or already have a teacher, they will probably help you deal with it..

As far as I can hear (being no voice expert of course) you are singing sometimes a bit low. And in the forte parts you seem to force your voice too much, sounds like you use too much pressure. The intonation thing is not really a big deal and I think it can be corrected easily. The problem with pressure or forcing the voice in the forte parts you should probably tackle together with your voice teacher.

LOL yes Raul...it's me.

For those of you who have listened...This recording was done on an iPod. I know it's not the best recording, and I've definitely sung better, but it's the only recording I have of me singing.

It's not really low for me..It might just be the song...I can definitely sing lower than that...

And...as I said...I've sung and can sing better...Thanks though..

If you look up "Defying Gravity" from the musical called Wicked on youtube, what do you guys think? This is my song for my voice recital on May 22...I know you can't hear me sing it...But just as a song choice...
