Instant coffee + as little water as possible = something that looks similar to this

Tastes bitter as hell but that wakes you up too.


Add it to a water bottle with a cap.  Forget about it for a week at room temperature.  Then chug it.  The bitter taste will have a slight sweetness to it (from whatever chemical process started happening during that week).

Damn Bob... We had a cafe at our University and by hell, I never stooped to instant coffee to get me out of bed...

Instant coffee is more efficient than regular coffee.  It's about maximizing liquid volume caffeine content.  Add in mass producing instant coffee sludge production (while reusing plastic water bottles) and you end up with multiple bottles of portable instant coffee sludge for a wake me up (along with strong coffee breath).  Having it turn a little sweet was gross.  I stopped making the water bottles like that after I realized it was fermenting or something throughout the week.  You could also load it up with fake sugar so it was a caffeine, bitter taste, sweet taste hit all at once.    *Bob misses the coffee sludge  and considers making some more again.*  Maybe I will make some more.  I remember it's relief to be wide awake and alert like that.

Since then I moved on to caffeine pills, but those don't do much of anything anymore.  I have seen you can get pharmaceutical grade caffeine powder off Amazon, but something like a spoonful of that can actually kill you.  I'm surprised they sell it.

That's just inefficient.  Imagine all the liquid you ingest slooshing around and then having to keep taking in that amount once you build up a tolerance to it.


Dang... That's interesting.  I remembered I might actually have some in my kitchen cabinets.  It starated to feel like Christmas morning for a second at the thought of running over and seeing if there some instant coffee in there.

I also remember if you keep reusing the same coffee mug with that sludge that the crusted sludge can start molding after a while.  You either realize that visually or by the taste.  It's bitter bark-tasting sludge.  It's not supposed to have a hint of mold in it, although it would still work.

That was interesting.  The instant coffee wasn't in the cabinet like I thought.  Started to get frantic searching for it.  I know it's there.  I remembered it was in a box of kitchen stuff nearby.  I found it....  A year's-old jar of instant coffee.  The smell is like happiness and relief.  I'm amused that feels like the best thing I've found or that's happened in a while.  

*Bob continues sniffing instant coffee.*  It's a solid chunk of grounds fused together in the bottom of the jar.  I bet it's still usable though....  And I can buy new at the store if I have to.... They'll have it there too....
