i'll stick to the ladies then. im much better at that sort of thing.

You certainly have no trouble finding more of them :)

Most male pianists seem to be old...or dead...

I'd say Yulianna Avdeeva, at the moment... Martha Argerich was extremely good looking too, and still is, for a woman of her age I mean.

me thinks we can have harpsichord/cembalo/clavichord/celeste/organ and all other matter of keyboardists represented.

 eva del campo casse

btw/fyi those not familiar with this incredible 'pre bach' composer might want to explore his music further, in particular his 'biblical sonatas' are awesome and on my bucket list of complete sets of works to someday learn (no 2 in particular is pretty incredible)

Didn't the ladies fawn over Liszt way back when?? I heard a lady retrieved a used cigar he threw away and stored it in her locket  :-\ Then again i thought about a strand of hair Chopin's sister had from him when he died for like a good nanosecond. I'm a super ultra mega fan, he's just too adorable

Who?  Liszt?
Went to re-visit Villa d'Este a few months ago.  That's all I thought about as I was going through the rooms and gardens.  Trying to see what he saw...

It's an attractive work (well, far more than just that, of course); not sure about either the performance or the pianist, though...

Apparently she's a successful business woman who only plays the piano for passion.

So what, I have been to rock concerts. I have seen girls collect empty water bottles that He used and threw away during the concert. Then they filled these bottles up again and drank, in a state of euphoria. (Unfortunately he had a bad cold, so a lot of his fans also got this cold this way.)
I have also seen a girl catching a very small piece of fluff emerging from a scarf that the Artist waved, and after the concert she proudly showed it as a souvenir to the rest of us. I understand this hug thing and all that, but this ... I was like "eeeh ..."  :-[  BTW she was not a girl, she was an adult. Made it even more embarrassing.

Besides, this thread seems to be about the usual, guys checking hot babes out, so I think I withdraw again. Piano, huh? Being good at piano playing is THE sexiest thing, that's my opinion. I also wonder why female pianists are supposed to expose as much skin as possible, while a man is supposed to expose as little as possible ...

Well, boys will be boys ;-)
Personally I find many of the "hot babes" here just look like pouty pubescent bimbos. I'd just as soon see a truly beautiful artist with class, experience and style, whether from the present of the past. Think Maria Tipo, Imogen Cooper, young Alicia de Larrocha (she never really stopped being attractive though IMO the big glasses and hairstyle in later life did her no favour). There will be many more examples, no skin or short dresses required. Maybe an idea for another, non-sexist thread :)

I have to agree with all those who say that, in her prime, Argerich was very attractive. Even still, she's aged gracefully.

I momentarily read that as "smoking pot". I'm afraid she doesn't float my boat, in terms either of attractiveness of appearance or playing...

Were that actually true, one suspects many weaknesses in her playing may be alleviated.

I must confess that I'd not thought of that! I do not share Thal's wholly deprecatory view of her but, as I think I may have mentioned previously, I find that she just doesn't engage me and draw me into what she plays, as with Hélène Grimaud, so listening to her is almost always a disspiriting experience - everything sounds just so much too ordinary and uninvolved and uninvolving. Try listening, for example, to her playing Rachmaninov's Third Concerto and then, after a suitable pause, Argerich doing the same...

Just as I'm sure that this is not the case, I'm not "bashing" Lisitsa; I just don't find the performances that I've heard from her engage me much.

I don't know for sure that she's an object specifically made for you to ogle at, but maybe she is? Nah, somehow I have hunch that she's a human being who has a life and attributes other than sex appeal. Crazy, huh?

I understand the need to express attraction, and I think it's great to honor people who you find attractive not only for their appearance but also their talent and intelligence. But "my penis can't handle this"?? Really??? Some of you middle-aged men sound like the boys at my high school.

I'm inclined to heavily agree. It's odd, I intuitively never felt overwhelmingly attracted to Rachmaninov 3rd in some ways. Several days ago I listened to Argerich play it, and that made things change, I'm quite inclined to now add that music to my to do list.

Irrational in terms of attractiveness and innate ability to play piano. I find it more settling avoid thinking about her at all. I have not formed an opinion of her playing yet, which is somewhat embarrassing given that she does play a fair amount of Scriabin. But I doubt it would be what I'd like it to be.

Well, old picture, he does not look like this anymore.  ;) But he did, when I was a teen.
