Well, Zimerman's still the best, but by 2025, I think it could be a different story ;D

You're the starter of new ideas, I suppose?
In other news I just had the greatest practice session of my life. I worked on the Pathetique for about 75 minutes, then my Bach Prelude and Fugue, then relaxed with some Chopin (the Nocturne in g minor, op 37/1 if anyone cares).
The Chopin, although the really long chromatic run starting on the high "A" (so specific I know) needs some work, went amazingly well, especially the choral.

OMG TAMILA SALIMDJANOVA was AMAZING. In the exposition of her Ballade (I didn't like her intro), she was able to play metronomic, yet without making it sound like a waltz!

OMG I HATE THAT B!TCH TEACHER SO MUCH NOW. I WILL NOT BE JOINING YOU GUYS, PENCILART AND IVETT AND AJLONGSPIANO AND DAVID123456

OMG Some people online are COMPLAINING about the results, saying "all their favorite pianists were knocked out", and that the Chopin Comeptition "was a scandal, and has been since 1980". what. They must be some stupid *insert b!tch teacher's names* students who have no taste.

Oh, and by calling the Chopin Competition a scandal only makes people write you off.

All my favorite pianists got in <33333333333 (I only heard a few people though, so that doesn't count ;D )

additional comment:
Ji-yeong Mun won the 2015 Busoni... and also the 2014 Geneva (it's not nearly as big as it used to be though)... how will she fare in the Chopin? :o in any case... that's pretty aggressive, trying to garner all these competition wins...

I think she got kicked out.

I found her playing at the Busoni solo rounds (I didn't listen to the final round) even plainer than Youlan Ji's. (By far, actually).

None of those are the same as the Chopin.

For the Chopin, even ONE prize can cause an uproar that lasts for years. (I. e. Avdeeda vs Bozhanov vs Wunder vs Trifonov, Pogorelich vs Dang Thai Son, etc.)
For the Busoni, several misplaced prizes only leads to some skepticallism for a few weeks at most.

BTW, her name is Chloe now, not Ji-Yeong. Look it up on the Busoni FB page. It calls her "Chloe (Ji-yeong) Mun".

In my opinion I think That Richard Hamelin, Dmitry Shishkin, Eric Lu, Lucasz Krupinski, Zi qu will be among the finalists.

And I am still confused on how Yike Tony Yang got past stage 1 I found his playing sorta timid and stuff.

Why is Eric Lu at first? The judges aren't ready to give the prize to an American.  :'(

Besides, there are other great people, too.

i.e. Seong-jin Cho, and I didn't hear the other people, but apparently Ivett is pretty good according to PS's unofficial boss ;D
