Two that come immediately to mind are Roman Polansky’s “The Tenant” and a Japanese movie called “The audition”. (Actually Japanese horror movies seem to be the bi thing at the moment with a lot being remade in Hollywood) :o
The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. (Hunter Thompson)

There are few scary movies that work on the whole. Usually, there are moments that you remember for a very long time. The Exorcist has to be at the top of the list however.

Movie moments on the other hand include.

- The two little girls in the "Shinning" very very creepy.

- The freaking doll under the bed in Poltergeist

- The hand coming out if the grave in "Carrie"
( I could not look at Sissy Spacek without being sick to my stomach for the next 10 years.)

- When the monster pops out in "Alien"

- The clown in "it" (Stephen King"

- The prison cell moment in the first "Hannibal movie"

- Any movie with a Baldwin in it not called Alec

what about when the girl walks out of the TV at the end of The Ring? That was freaky.

the ring! and after we'd finished watching it the phone rang and we were like OH MY GOD, but it was only a friend.

I watched the Japanese version (never seen the ring), called "Ringu".

God it was creepy with just the type of Japanese instruments they use to make that shreeking sound.

God (to everyones embarrasement).  I didn't watch the full movie.  I stopped at 60 minutes out of 90 minutes and didn't see what happened after.  Did any one see this and can tell me?  It's not like I'm going to watch it again.  So no worries.

I thought the creepiest part was watching that strange video:

1The Girl brushing her hair
2The Japanese man with the funny hat
3The Eruption with all the Japanese characters floating everywhere
4Sadako's Eye
5The men crawling on their stomachs
6The well

I didn't understand the imagery.  What did it mean?  of course I didn't find out because I pissed my pants screaming....and while I was watching this during the day time too.

Another freaky movie I thought was what lies beneath with harrison ford.  But after they discovered who the killer was, it wasn't freaky anymore...more like an action movie.

How about JAWS!

This is more gross than scary, but I think some of the goriest and repulsive
moments I've seen are:

Akira - 1988 Japanese Animation where Tetsuo turns into that blob. (saw it when I was 15)

Indiana Jones - Last crusade...then the Nazi drank out of the wrong "holy grail" and turned into a .... corpse (saw it when I was 9); I didn't drink out of anything shiny for about 2 weeks.

Indiana Jones - Temple of Doom ...when the cult takes out the heart of the sacrificial man and sends him down that hell shaft (saw it when I was 11)

Alien and Aliens - when the aliens hatch out of the people

And these 2 other movies I don't know their names (can you help me I identify them?)

The first one is where they put this guy into something that looks like a washing machine, but when they open the door...a MASSIVE ocean of blood pours out...so basically he was melted right to the bone.

The second one has haunted me for some time.  I don't know if this is an Asian made movie or a Hollywood one:

There is this Asian guy that walks into a bedroom and sees this beautiful blond woman.  The next scene is that they close the door.  A few moments later we see that the mans hand has turned into painful boils of blood and wakes up screaming, while the lady lies died in a pool of blood.  It must have been some sort of diesease or something.  He then calls out to one of the guards to help him...and that's all I can remember.

Don't you guys have parents.

When I was in fourth grade ,the school showed Willard -the movie about the rat.

To this day I fear anything that looks like a rat to the point of going balistic.

well, wasnt there an incident a while back when white rats were released in Edmonton or Calgary,, or ...
Doesnt really matter - they cant survive our winters.  Even if they did, I could still get rid of them....with my new Simoniz Pressure washer!!! ;) Available only from Canadian Tire stores and online!!  Man, that canadian tire couple is so freakin annoying!  No, I didnt really buy one of those pressure washers -knowing a portion of what I pay goes right into the pockets of that canadian tire couple.

How the hell did I get started on this topic??!!  :P

Aren't you guys finding the names of movies coming out now are just lame...

like take "The Birth" for example.
I bet pretty much sooner or later (probably sooner)..that every single word in the dictionary will be some sort of name for a movie.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space!!!  ;)
It's very much a "B" movie, but there was one scene that completely cracked me up. These really ugly clowns are capturing people (and subsequently eating/drinking them) and to entice some victims, they use their fingers (two only, with thumb) to make shadow puppets on the wall. The shadows start out pretty simply, but end with Washington crossing the Potomac! pretty hilarious...

THE SHINING!!!

One of my favourite films, mainly because i find Jack Nicholson so attractive in it! And also i don't find horror films that are based on fantasy (e.g the ring etc) that scary - it's not as if they could ever happen, whereas a character like Jack's in The Shining could exist.

Scary Movie - Worst $10 I ever spent - The makers of that movie should be castrated....
The Shining - wasn't really scary, but kindof freaky....  3/10 for scariness
It - wasn't scary at all... kind of boring actually

I reckon - the ring... That was pretty damn freaky.
