Wondering if I can afford to start working on an MA.

And wondering if I can afford to move house this year.

Possibly doing both wouldn't be a very good combination...

I'm thinking about how my life has taken a turn for the worse.  I lost about 6 piano students when my wife left me 3 weeks ago.  She moved everything out of my house and turned off the utilities so I couldn't teach or live there anymore.  I was also scheduled to perform in a large concert at the beginning of March but the agony of losing your beautiful wife is very similar to losing your best friend in death so I was forced for emotional reasons not to perform.  I lost a 12 year relationship with the greatest teacher in my area due to crippling depression.  It's a horrible story and I wish I never had it to share.  Therefore I have introverted back to the safe-haven of playing my music and listening again to all the things that I love but in deeper pain at their beauty since I am missing my other half.  In particular I've been listening to two Rachmaninoff pieces:  Op.19 cello sonata mvmnt.3 and suite no.1 for two pianos III- Les Larmes (tears).  These are the only two pieces that have ever forced me to lose my composure and weep.

I've had profound psychedelic experiences while listening to this music and it breaks me every time I hear it.  Imagine seeing images of Rachmaninoff leaning into a piano multiplying out of each other and appearing in every portion of your field of vision, colored with rainbow hues.  Everywhere, in the toilet (unfortunately) in the sink, in the water coming out of the faucet, pervading every thought and view you have.  That is what psilocybin mushrooms will do to you.

Sorry to give this downer story but I've been thinking about it non stop for three weeks and it helps more than a little to vent.

wow, schnabby, that stinks !  Sorry to read that stuff.

I am thinking about how it seems there is this whole other "alternate Universe" ... ahhhhh ... I finally see it.  There is this whole other alternate universe and I just don't understand this one that we seem to experience all around us.  This whole other universe ... it's why I play the piano, actually.  It's my world of piano and music (which is currently under some kind of extreme renovation, btw) ... where everybody communicated through song ... not just Opera, not just singing ... but something deeper, something more.  And, somehow the mountains were music and the sky is music and the flowers and the trees and everything ... everything is music.  Every tiny little detail.

Well, not real sure how to reconcile all of it. What seems to be all around vs. the alternate universe ... which is maybe actual reality ?  And, who else knows about that place ?  Are there other people there ?

I am extremely sleepy (and I may erase this sillyness in the Morgen).  G'night.

Wow, it's really a good question I must say.

What's on my mind right now? Well I am thinking about my wonderful boyfriend who is hundreds of miles away from me, in college, and I haven't heard from him in about two weeks :'( I'm wondering what he's doing and if he misses me nearly as much as I miss him!!! I'm thinking about when we were together and when I will see him next. I can't wait for that moment!!! *sigh*

And I'm thinking about how much I hate pollen!!! and my allergies!!!! lol!!! ugh!!!

Guten Morgen K :) No, please don't erase it, I like :)

@"Schnabby" welcome back (after 5 years? 8)) and sorry to hear about that drama  :'( I know these psychedelic experiences, I have a couple of pieces like that which I "collected" over the years, for instance Mahler's "Kindertotenlieder", gets me every time I listen.

In my mind is that I never want to be anything else than a musician. When I leave this dimension I will tell "them over there" that I refuse to be something else in a prospective other lifetime. LOL ;D They will have to cooperate.

Note to self:  It's generally not a good idea when around people, esp. at work, to grove and headbang to the music from the movie Pyscho.
