A lady from my church gave me all of her old etude magazines from the 1930's. Very interesting to look through.

Rachmaninoff wrote an amazing article for Etude on the ten essentials to becoming a concert pianist. Most interesting of the ten was "educating the public" - he placed this in the same group as technique and talent and the like.

It's nice that he mentions Henselt's studies. Awfully neglected pieces.  :)
