Shine and The Pianist

What do you all think of these films? Being Australian I loved shine, and the Pianist was a great film. One day I shall be a great pianist, but not yet, not yet.

really liked Shine until I read the story was almost bogus.
I have read that they have taken a lot off liberty's with the story, which is often the case with movies.
Still very good, but looses some of it's appeal.

Oh my God these are my 2 favourite films (who would of guessed me being a pianist and all!)
Thankyou for the Adrien Brody pic, i adore him he is soo lush definitely my favourite actor (funnily enough ever since he did the pianist!)
But he was amazing int he Pianist it must have been so intense to film and exhausting. I read somewhere that he lost loads of weight - basically starved himself and took away all his usual luxuries to get into the role of Wladyslaw Szpilman. I think it was also pretty impressive that he practised piano for 4 hours a day - had lessons and everything, and learnt a little Chopin, that's pretty tough for an adult who hasn't played piano ever before (although perhaps he has some experience?)
In fact might have to go and watch it now...I think Brody looks like a pianist ought to!
