Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. Name of that simple beginners' duet?
on: June 24, 2005, 02:18:57 PM
Hi,
I'm searching for the name and composer, or other source of a simple piano duet, one of those Fur Elise/The Entertainer type songs, but one that no one I know knows the name of. I would suspect most piano players know it. I'm not sure how to write music in text, but the piece is quite simple, the 'lower' part is basically arpegios in C, A, F, G, and the 'upper' part is a melody, that starts 'C C C-----, C' B, A, B, C' D, E, E E-----, E, D, C', D, E', F----'.

Hope this isn't too random of a request - thanks to anyone who knows the name and/or composer!
