Replacement for Fur Elise
on: June 25, 2005, 07:22:21 PM
Hey everyone,
I have been playing Fur Elise for a while now and would like to start learning a new piece. I constantly hear how overplayed it is. Does anyone have any recommendations for a piece to learn that is about the same hardness as Fur Elise. The reason I like Fur Elise is because the first page is at a moderate pace, but then on the second page things really heat up and the piece really starts to test my skills and speed. It's just a shame this piece is so overplayed. People at most piano stores tell me it's the "Stairway to Heaven" of piano songs. Thanks in advance.

First of all, if you like a piece, you should learn it, no matter how overplayed it is. If it annoys anybody, it is their problem, not yours. Regarding easier pieces, check out these threads.
