Will there be a webcast of it, like with the Liszt/Cliburn/Richter competition? It would be great if we can see the whole competition.

The competition is from September 23 to October 24.

The official website:

https://www.chopin.pl/konkurs/index.php

I haven't see anything about a webcast on there yet... I could always try to persuade my friend to videotape, but he'd probably be too busy practicing when he's not competing... the repertoire requirements are insane!

If you dont mind me asking, what are the repetoire requirements and also, how often does the chopin competition take place?  Is it a yearly event?

Look under the USA contestants for my friend Mr. Sean Chen   :)

The repetoire requirements are posted on the site, under "regulations."

I think the competition is once every 5 years.
