Final Fantasy VII sheet music
on: July 02, 2005, 09:41:27 PM
Does anybody have the sheet music for pieces from the game Final Fantasy VII?  This music is absolutely gorgeous, and really is what got me interested in intstrumental, classical music.  I'm specifically looking for the music for the overworld map theme, but any help would be appreciated!

i don't know where you could get the original music from for download (since it's copyrighted) but here's a link to where i bought mine (some are arrangement some are originals so check wich books to buy before getting em)

https://www.gamemusic.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/GMOStore.woa/wa/CategoryDetail?did=121&cid=10069

you can also get free to download free piano arrangements (usually harder than the original if the original was already for piano) from this website :

www.fantasyreborn.com/main.html

if you don't have finale already you can get a free version here (has limitations but is just fine for reading / writing scores so if all you want is to use it to view the arrangements or print them or have them playback you don't need a better version)

I have all the sheet music (originals) for piano. Where should I send them/host them?

Since this is my own compilation (searching for ALL of them), they'are all neatly seperated into folders and with the respectable midi from the ingame music.

well as they say on the website split archives are allowed so you couold just make a multi part archive with each archive being around 45mb top (does the archive also contains mp3 or are you sure you zipped with max compression? it sounds a bit big if that's only FF7 ost)

The file is divided into each CD (4 cds), then all piece names, then in each piece name folder you have the zip of the sheet music for easy distribution, the extraction of the zip (sheet music) and the midi file corresponding. Now, midifiles and jpegs are not too strong on the compression.

Imagine 100 midi, 300 jpegs, and 300 jpegs compressed in zip. This can equal 50 meg.

Tell me which pieces you want and I can get any of them for you. There are also piano collections sheets, which are official arrangements of pieces from the OST.

Or I can do that too, since we apparently have the same sheets. But I already sent him the whole 50 meg file through MSN.

The fantasyreborn site is very good, difficult as well to play these arrangements, I think much more suitable and nicer to play is the fabulous 'Eyes on Me' piano solo, its beautiful and perhaps one of the best pieces the composer wrote in all the games, Not too hard either, I got it by just typing in the name of the song on a search engine and it came up with a site, think it was a geocities site, check it out.

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to keep an open mind....

And FF8 has what I consider the best piano of the series.  Play the game if you have time and you'll hear what I mean.  Especially the ending.
