Ascending Chromatic Scale...

Ok I'm pretty much done with the 3rd movement of moonlight now finally...  But in the coda is this ascending chromatic scale...  No problem right?  I dunno why it's just a stinking chromatic scale but I can't seem to play it as fast as needed ascending the way it wants.  It starts out with 16th notes and ends in 4 32nd notes...  I seriously can't understand why I can't get it up to this speed.  In Fantasie Impromptu it has a descending chromatic scale at a pretty fast tempo and I got that up no problem.  But for some reason ascending is just killing me...

I can play it at about 145bpm with 16th notes...  But can't get much faster.  It kinda feels like I'm pulling my entire arm instead of just floating over the keys like it feels like with the descending.  I tried not pulling my arm...  Haha not that I was thats just what it feels like I try relaxing I just don't get it...  Maybe a different fingering would help?  It starts on G# and I play 3-1-3-1-2-3-1-3-1-2-3-1 etc.. etc..  I figured this was pretty standard...  Would there be a better way to finger it?

I just sat down for the last 3 hours after a week of no success playing an ascending chromatic scale ridiculously slowly and speeding it up...  Playing different accents, rhythms everything.  I just don't know what else to do...  PLEASE HELP!  Thanks a lot!

musicman I havent played 3rd movement Moonlight yet but considerin how you havta do such a rapid chromatic ascending scale from G# and you're using that standard method of doin chromatic, you might be putting too much stress on your middle finger and thumb

I'm not shure, have you ever practiced the other kind of chromatic scale where you also use your 4th finger?  like if I was starting on C, i'd use these fingering for RH:

(i'll put them in "sets" if you know wut i mean)

1234-123-1234-123-123-1234-123

then again

maybe you can try this

otherwise I'm not shure
