Mozart's first five PC

I read that these concertoes were really just adaptions of pieces already out there. Is this true? if so what were the original pieces?

in roeder's 'a history of the concerto' it says he wrote concerto-arrangements for keyboard sonatas by other composers before the age of 12.   his first independent concerto (for trumpet K 47c) was lost.  leopold spoke of it in a letter.

the 14 mature piano concertos written in his vienna period seem to have the most interest.

he wrote 21 solo keyboard concertos, and some for two pianos and three pianos.
do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

I think it's the first four rather than the first five; indeed, I've seen the concerti numbered so that K.175 in D major is referred to as No.1 and then it takes off from there, but I tend to ignore that numbering as it's not as widely used and just leads to confusion. (Although No.21 is in C major in both numberings - K.467 in the standard, K.503 in the non-standard.  Same thing happens with No.10 and E-flat major for that matter - K.365 vs. K.449.) There are a few recordings of all four on the same CD, but I suspect it is otherwise difficult to find them outside boxed sets of the complete concerti. (I've never heard any of them performed, but I've heard one or two of the other pre-'Jeunehomme' concerti performed.)

I don't really care where it came from I would still like to play the fourth and fifth.

Some of the earlier concertos were based on works by CPE Bach, Diedrich Buxtehude and JC Bach.
Fortune favours the musical.
