Looking for a practice room in Mainz
on: June 30, 2003, 06:51:53 PM
Hello all,

I posted this over at the teacher's side of the piano forum, since they might be in a better position to know the answer to my question, but I thought I'd put it here too.

I spend a lot of time in far-flung hotel rooms around the world.  In July I'll be in Mainz five times.  While I usually content myself with walking around, reading, and working at composing on my computer, I would love to start finding places where I can actually practice while I'm on the road.  Mainz is across the river from Wiesbaden, at the junction of the Rhein and the Main rivers, and just a short train ride from Frankfurt.

Does anybody here have any knowledge of music schools or churches in any of these cities, and then be willing to suggest where I might be able to find a practice room?   (And I do mean practice room, so that I don't drive innocents and small children completely round the bend from hearing me repeat a phrase a 100 times or more in goofy rhythms and tempo.  I want to work, not perform for others on these occasions.)

I realize that you might not want to post this information in a public forum like this, so feel free to write me off-list, at my email address:

  Thank you for any advice!

Best,
Eric Nolte
