Hi !!

Dont you hate when you listen some piece on the radio, and eventough you inmediately recognize the music, you CANNOT REMEMBER THE COMPOSER?  :-[ :-[

It does happen to me all the time !!
Something like:
Turn the radio on, listen...yes, i know this piano sonata... lari-lari-lari, i can even sing its melody!! ...yes, it is so well known !!! ..i think it is Mozart, no wait, most probably it is Haydn, mmm, not sure, perhaps some early Beethoven...argggg, i give up, i cannot remember !!!!  :D :D

Check the radio station's website, some of them post their playlists.

i was doing that yesterday, well in fact i was pretty sure it was the 4th movement from beethoven's archduke trio, except then i looked at the radio guide and it was like there's mozart playing right now, and i'm like what i don't know those mozart pieces. so after sitting in confusion for like 10 minutes i went and listened to the 4th movement of the archduke trio and it turns out i was right and the radio program has no idea what it's talking about...
that's why i'm busy teaching myself to identify composers by just listening to a few bars!

I hate being unable to identify it by myself. So, looking at the program, is not the solution  ::) ::)

Heard some Mozart on the radio once...spouted off to my (non-musical) mother about how quintessentially Mozartian all Mozart's music sounded, how it was so easy to identify, etc. etc.  Announcer came on and said, "That was one of Beethoven's early works...".  :P

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
