Edward German; Three Dances from "Henry VIII"
on: July 16, 2005, 03:59:32 PM
Friends,
Cannot find anything about:" Three Dances from "Henry VIII"", by the English composer, Sir Edward German, other than a few recordings, which are orch...
My sister believes these were for piano FIRST...and is looking for the second, "Shepherds' Dance", or all of them if possible, for piano. She has the MIDDLE of the Shepherds' Dance, for piano, and it has NO PUBLISHER on the two pages she has.......
Does anyone know anything about these three somewhat obscure dances?
My Regards, and many thanks!!!...John Cont

Have a look here for some background material on the composer and the work:
https://www.yso.org.uk/documents/rev8.html
https://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2001/Dec01/Edward_German.htm
Alan Cuckston recorded a CD of German’s piano music:
https://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2000/feb00/german.htm
You can find a piano duet version of the three dances here:
https://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/0044056/details.html?kbid=1296
And here is the piano solo version:
https://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/0044059/details.html?kbid=1296
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Bernhard.
