I have about half of that series, and they are all marvelous, without exception. But then again, I don't have much to compare with, because most of these concertos are hardly ever recorded. If I really had to choose, I'd go with Vol. 22 (Busoni), Vol. 23 (Holbrooke/Wood) and Vol. 26 (Litolff).

If you are in the US, you can get some of these at BMGMusic.com. If you sign up, you'll get a bunch for free. They also have some of the series on sale. Amazon sells them at full price. i have not seen them anywhere else at reduced price. Please let me know if you do :)

I have many of that set (Moscheles, Alkan, Saint-Saens and Dreyschock are my favorites).

It would be also a good idea to get Alkan´s piano works with Hamelin and Liszt intégrale  with Leslie Howard  ;)

Henselt, Bortkiewicz, Sauer, Arensky.

I listen to these and wonder why they have dropped from the regular repetoire.

They should as least be played along with some of the regulars and in some cases, instead of.
