what are your three favorite Schumann suites?

pretty straight-forward.  Just choose your three favorites.  I left out the Sonatas and the Symphony without an Orchestra because they aren't really suites.

I'm afraid I don't have anything vastly original...Phantasiestuck op. 12 is definitely tops on my preferred listening list, followed by the extremely popular Carnaval and Romanzen op. 28

just to be different: fantasy pieces, romance, walzenen.
do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

Davdisbundlertanze: just perfect!
Kreisleriana: fascinating set...
Carnaval op 9: so fresh!

Humoreske is a very close fourth on my list.

One of my 3 choices was the "Album for the young".  :)

I beleive i am a little influenced by the fact that i actually play some of this pieces (the easier ones), but all 43 are really superb.

Easier does not mean inferior !!!!   ;D ;D

PD: my other 2 choices were Kinderszenen and Carnaval. I really like Schumann a lot  :)

I'm glad to see that Carnaval beat out Kreisleriana and Davidsbundlertanze ^^  I know I'm in the minority here but I've never been a huge fan of Kreisleriana and Davidsbundlertanze.

    Not easy, but it came around to;

      Symphonic Etudes
      Kresleriana
      Papilons
=  o        o  =
   \     '      /
