repetition
on: July 17, 2005, 06:34:44 AM
There is a particular piece I play (Rzewski North American Ballad No. 4) that has a left-handed passage that is very long and is just repeated over and over and over and my hands seem to want to speed it up as I go along.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to prevent this?

Repetition can cause boardom and you might subconsiously be wanting to just get to the end of the setion as fast as possible (just a thought)

also sometimes when I'm noticing I'm speeding up I'll overcompensate and suddenly drop in tempo ><  It's really annoying.
