Grande Etudes a la Paganini?
if yes, I have the record, performed by Nikolai Petrov. I don't like the edition of Campanella, that he performs. others are quiet good.

I think he is talking about the Grandes Etudes that later became the Transcendental.

I myself haven't heard any recordings of I would love to hear some. ;D

I wasn't aware that Arrau and Jando both recorded both versions.

There is also a third version. I know Leslie Howard recorded all three versions.

They have been recorded by janice Weber.

Better than the Howard i feel.

If Hamelin is recording them, I can't wait.

yes - when I saw this thread, I was just on my way to mention this.  The recordings are interesting - you may like them as an alternative to Leslie Howard's callous touch and percussive sound.

*Signs*

We are talking about the Douze Grandes Etudes, which later became the Transendental etudes.

YES!  Lazar Berman!  Why don't more people here listen to him?  He is soooo the best.  He was the original (we're not counting liszt or busoni =P) Liszt virtuoso.
