have you actually listened closely to both of their styles of playing? they are not alike at all.

and what would be the point of playing a piece EXACTLY like horowitz did?

langlang brings out new things in the transcription, and i actually prefer the way he plays it(in some live recordings) to horowitz's.

Well at least according to his 60 min. interview. He plays Horowitz transcriptions. He performs all the time. I think he looked up to Horowitz or something and is emulating some things from him.

yes, that is true, but also true of many other young pianists.

dont blame langlang for playing it safe in his repertoire choices - hes only been around a short time.

and in fact, on his DVD he plays some chinese composer's music, very well i thought, and that is admirable.

well, volodos has done the same, cant blame them.
